The CPC50220 Diploma of Building and Construction (Building) reflects the role of building professionals who manage residential and commercial building projects. Students develop knowledge of structural principles, estimating, risk and financial management, contract administration, and supervising construction work. 

Residential construction covered by this qualification includes National Construction Code Class 1 and 10 buildings up to three storeys. Commercial construction includes Class 2–9 buildings for Type B and Type C construction.  

Graduates develop the skills required to coordinate building projects, manage contractors, and oversee quality and compliance in construction environments.

Builder licensing requirements vary across states and territories and may require additional criteria beyond this qualification.  

Applicants must: 

  • be at least 18 years old 
  • demonstrate ACSF Level 3 or equivalent 
  • have completed Year 12 or AQF Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) 
  • demonstrate IELTS overall score of 6.0 or equivalent 
  • complete LLND and digital skills assessments if required

Greenfield College provides all required materials, tools, and equipment for training and assessment. Students complete practical training in a supervised workshop environment designed to reflect real construction settings.
