The CPC30620 Certificate III in Painting and Decorating provides students with the skills and knowledge required to work as a painter and decorator in the building and construction industry. 

Students learn how to prepare surfaces, apply paints and coatings, match colours, apply decorative finishes, and work safely using industry tools and materials in residential and commercial construction environments. 

This qualification prepares students for trade-level employment and supports apprenticeship pathways within the construction industry.

Licensing and regulatory requirements for painting and decorating work vary between states and territories. 

Applicants must: 

  • be at least 18 years old 
  • demonstrate ACSF Level 3 or equivalent 
  • have completed Year 12 or AQF Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) 
  • demonstrate IELTS overall score of 6.0 or equivalent 
  • complete LLND and digital skills assessments if required

All materials, tools, and equipment required for training and assessment are provided by Greenfield College.  

Students complete practical training in a supervised workshop environment designed to reflect real construction settings. 

Students may apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) if they can demonstrate competency through previous training, work experience, or life experience.  

Credit Transfer is available for students who have completed equivalent units with another Registered Training Organisation.
